Lincoln E. Buell letters, 1918.

Buell's letters (January 13 - August 8, 1918) during World War I describing his voyage from New York to Paris, France; his service there with the Young Men's Christian Association, and the background and training of the YMCA personnel; the canteen, entertainment and other services provided by the YMCA; acquisition of supplies; conferences and meetings; and reactions to the French people and to the war. The letters are addressed to "My dear Boyd and other friends." Boyd is not identified, but it is probable from evidence found in the letters that both he and Buell were from Michigan.
